Donn W. Meade, 69, of Chicopee, died on Sunday, December 29, 2019 at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield surrounded by his wife and children. Donn was born on June 8, 1950 in Springfield. He was the son of the late Walter and Molly (Roman) Meade. A life-long resident of Chicopee, he attended Chicopee High School. He was also a graduate of Rochester Institute of Technology where he studied Art and Design. Prior to retirement, he was a packaging engineer at Avery Dennison Corp for many years of his career. Donn spent countless hours of his free time designing and tending to his magnificent gardens. He was a constant joker, loving family man, and his children’s and grandchildren’s biggest fan. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Patricia (Kulig) Meade; a son, Daniel Meade of Halfmoon, NY; two daughters, Stephanie Mascia and her husband, Jim of Boston, MA and Kathryn Vooris and her husband, David of West Springfield; a brother, Thomas Meade and his wife, Marie of Charlestown, RI and two granddaughters, Molly Meade and Sienna Mascia. Donn’s funeral will be held on Saturday, January 4, 2020 from the Cierpial Memorial Funeral Home on 69 East St. in Chicopee Falls at 11 am followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial in St. Rose de Lima Church, 600 Grattan St. in Chicopee at 12 pm. Burial will be in St. Rose de Lima Cemetery. Calling hours are on Friday from 4 to 7 pm.
