Dorothy A. (Drewniak) Dzialo Alexopoulos, 77, of Chicopee, passed away on Friday, December 4, 2015 at home with her family by her side. She was the owner of the Corinthian Salon in Chicopee and a cosmetologist for over forty years. Dorothy was born on July 31, 1938 in Chicopee. She was the daughter of the late Frank and Stella H. (Bobola) Drewniak. Dorothy was a communicant of the Basilica of St. Stanislaus Bishop and Martyr, a member of the Rosary Society and the Professional Beauty Association. She was a 1955 graduate of Chicopee High School and the Mansfield Beauty Academy. She enjoyed being a hair stylist and helping people. Dorothy was an honest, hardworking and loving person. In her spare time, she enjoyed bowling, dancing, reading, crafts, quilting and sewing.

She is survived by her husband, Thomas Alexopoulos, who she’s been with for the past thirty five years, a daughter, Debra Dzialo-Alexopoulos of Chicopee; her brother, Frank Drewniak of Chicopee, two grandchildren, Eric Alexopoulos and Brielle Trella; her former sister-in-law, Barbara Drewniak; nephews, Darrell Drewniak, Steven Drewniak and Frank A. Drewniak and her canine companion, Charlie. Besides her parents, she is predeceased by her first husband, Robert D. Dzialo, her sister-in-law, Katherine “Kat” Drewniak and her niece, Pamela Ann Drewniak.

Dorothy’s funeral will be held on Friday, December 11, 2015 from the Cierpial Memorial Funeral Home on 61 Grape St. in Chicopee Center at 11:30 am, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial in the Basilica of St. Stanislaus at 12:30 pm. Her burial will follow at the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main St. in Agawam at 2 pm. Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 4 to 7 pm.
