Edna M. (Jakus) Folta, 93, of Chicopee, died on Monday, June 20, 2016 at Heritage Hall North in Agawam. She was a retired inspector at Smith and Wesson and also worked at F. W. Sickles and Reynolds Electronics. Edna was born on April 8, 1923 in Chicopee.
She was the daughter of the late Michael and Josephine (Kopcienski) Jakus. Edna was educated in Chicopee schools and was a communicant of the Basilica of St. Stanislaus. She is predeceased by her husband, Ludwig Folta, who died on June 20, 1983, two sons, Chester and Robert and her brothers and sisters. Edna is survived by her nieces and nephews, Carol Kibbe and her husband Cliff of Agawam, Patricia Toegel and her husband Kurt, Joseph Bobek and Alfred Bobek, of Chicopee and several other nieces and nephews and many great nieces and nephews.
Edna’s funeral was private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Stanislaus School, 534 Front St., Chicopee, MA 01013.
