Eleanor L. (Barry) Smith, 94, of East Longmeadow, died on Tuesday, October 8, 2019 at East Longmeadow Skilled Nursing Center. She was born on September 18, 1925 in Springfield. Eleanor was the daughter of the late Walter and Elizabeth (Harding) Barry. She enjoyed being with her family and was always there for everyone. Eleanor is predeceased by her husband, Anson A. Smith; her adopted son, Kenneth Smith, her sister, Barbara Barry and her son-in-law, Raymond Poole. She is survived by her son, Alan “Buddy” Smith and his wife, Virginia of Springfield: four daughters, Patricia “Gail” Newman and her husband, Kenneth of Springfield, Priscilla “Ann” Poole of East Longmeadow, Laura St. Louis and her husband, Michael of Springfield and Linda Parent of West Springfield, 20 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren and 9 great great grandchildren. Eleanor’s funeral will be held on Tuesday, October 15, 2019 from the Cierpial Memorial Funeral Home on 69 East St. in Chicopee Falls at 11am. Burial will follow in St. Michaels Cemetery at 12:30 pm. Calling hours are on Monday from 4 to 7 pm. A service will be held on Monday evening 6:30 pm.
