Frances (Kusnierz) Asta-Ferrero, 62, of West Springfield, died on Sunday, April 17, 2016 at Hospice of the Fisher House in Amherst. She worked for thirty one years as a postal clerk at the Springfield Bulk Mail Center, retiring in 2015. Frances was born on February 22, 1954 in Westfield and was the daughter of the late Max and Evelyn (Rys) Kusnierz. She was a graduate of Westfield High School and Westfield State University.

She is survived by her husband of twenty eight years, Charles Asta-Ferrero; her son, Joseph Asta-Ferrero of West Springfield; her daughter, Julie Dragon and her husband, Kevin of Rutland, VT; three brothers, Walter Kusnierz and his wife, Nancy of Pittsfield, Max Kusnierz and his wife, Susan, of Westfield and Stanley Kusnierz and his wife, Marilyn of Westfield and three sisters, Mary Kusnierz and Anna Kusnierz, both of Westfield and Philomena Belmar and her husband William of West Springfield, her uncle, Edward Rys of Holyoke and several nieces and nephews.

Frances’ funeral will be held on Thursday, April 21, 2016 from the Cierpial Memorial Funeral Home on 69 East St. in Chicopee Falls at 9 am followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at St. Thomas The Apostle Church, 63 Pine St. in West Springfield at 10 am. Her burial will be in St. Thomas Cemetery, Kings Highway, also in West Springfield. Calling hours are on Wednesday from 4 to 7 pm.
