Frances (Rusin) Morawiec died on Monday, at Mont Marie Healthcare Center in Holyoke MA. Frances was predeceased by her husband, Teddy J. Morawiec, her parents, Kasper and Mary Rusin, her brothers, Joseph, John, and Stanley and her sister, Jean Topor. She is survived by her sister, Veronica Szczur. Cioci Fran leaves many nephews and nieces, including, Martin (Cheryl) Topor of West Springfield MA , Mary Jean (Paul) Thornton of Chicopee, MA and Stephen (Beth) Topor of Danville CA, Charles (Kim) Szczur of Chicopee MA, and Edward (Andrea) Szczur of Granby, MA. She also leaves many great and great-grand nephews and nieces. Frances worked at the former, F.W. Sickles. She was a communicant at St. Stanislaus Church and a member of the Rosary Society. Frances “took care” of everyone serving as a second mother to many and always putting others before herself. Everyone who knows Frances would describe her as kind, patient, quiet and loving. She will be remembered for her amazing Christmas butter cookies that had the perfect amount of red and green sprinkles; her garden that always included string beans, cucumbers, and tomatoes; always wearing slippers inside, and that the only time she didn’t want to be disturbed was during Days of Our Lives. While she lived simply and didn’t say too much, her actions spoke tenfold. Frances’ family would like to thank the entire staff at Mont Marie and Beacon Hospice for their compassionate care. Her wake will be held on Friday, November 6, 2020 from 8:00 to 8:30 am at the Cierpial Memorial Funeral Home on 69 East St. in Chicopee Falls, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial in the Basilica of St. Stanislaus at 9 am. Burial will be in St. Stanislaus Cemetery. Due to Covid-19, masks and social distancing are required. In lieu of flowers, feel free to remember Frances by contributing to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital 262 Danny Thomas Place Memphis, TN 38105 or https://www.stjude.org/.
