It is with heavy hearts that the family of Gladys (Maziarz) Monette, announce her passing on May 1, 2017 at the Holyoke Health Care Center. Gladys was the daughter of Joseph and Rozalia (Kowal) Maziarz. She was born on January 29, 1922 in Chicopee. Gladys is predeceased by her husband, Theodore A. Monette, her brother, Stanley Maziarz and her sister, Bertha Radwanski. She is survived by her children, Theodore Monette and his wife, Katherine of Holyoke, Christine Podmore and her husband, George of Chicopee; four grandchildren, Gregory Monette, Michelle Monette, Aimee Monette and Kevin Podmore; six great grandchildren, Henry Berta, Liam Podmore, Jamison Podmore, Sam Monette, Eli Roberge and Malachy Monette; two brothers, Henry Maziarz and Joseph “Richard” Maziarz, several nieces and nephews and her youngest and oldest friend, Kris Labelle. Gladys enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. The family would like to thank the Holyoke Health Care Center, especially the staff on the 2nd floor, for their care and compassion. A funeral home service will be held on Thursday, May 4, 2017 at the Cierpial Memorial Funeral Home on 61 Grape St. in Chicopee Center at 10 am. Burial will follow in St. Stanislaus Cemetery. A calling hour will precede the service from 9 to 10 am. Memorial contributions may be made to the Holyoke Health Care Center Activity Fund, 282 Cabot St., Holyoke, MA 01040.
