Helen Emelia (Stefanik) Radawiec, 86, peacefully passed away on Thursday, September 1, 2016. She was born in Springfield on July 19, 1930. Helen was the daughter of the late Peter and Emelia (Knapp) Stefanik. She was raised in Chicopee, and graduated from Chicopee High and went on to work for the City of Chicopee for twenty years. She leaves behind her beloved husband of sixty one years, Albin J. Radawiec. Helen was a devoted mother to her son, Michael Radawiec, daughter, Janice Masse and her husband, Wayne, daughter, Joanne and daughter Judy Slater and her husband, Steve. Most important to Helen were her six grandchildren; Cassandra, David, Matthew, Nathaniel, Madison and Emily. She was predeceased by her two adored brothers, Colonel Edward Stefanik and Stephen Stefanik. Upon the family’s request, a private ceremony and burial was held at the Holy Mother of the Rosary Church and cemetery. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
