Jean A. (Pinkos) Stopa, 95, of Westfield, died on Monday, January 22, 2018 at home with her family by her side. Jean was the daughter of the late Wladyslaw and Tekla (Stachowicz) Pinkos. She was employed at A. G. Spaulding Corp. where she stitched baseballs and F. W. Sickles Corp. where she soldered radio components. She liked painting and gardening. Jean is predeceased by her husband, Medard Stopa Sr., who died in 2010; two brothers, Joseph and Theodore Pinkos and two sisters, Molly Bednarz and Isabelle Burgess. She is survived by her son, Medard “Med” Stopa Jr. and his wife, Jane of Westfield; two granddaughters, Laura A. Stopa and her boyfriend, Justin Halpin and Jacqueline M. Sevigne and her boyfriend, Nathan Dudek; two great grandchildren, Madelynn Sevigne and Charlotte Dudek and two brothers, Max and John Pinkos, both of Chicopee. Jean’s funeral will be held on Thursday, February 1, 2018 at the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main St. in Agawam at 2 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Shriners Hospital for Children, Carew St. Springfield, MA.
