Jennie A. (Wendrychowicz) Herchel 97, of Chicopee, died on Sunday, August 19, 2018 at Wingate at Wilbraham. She was born on April 3, 1921 in Chicopee. Jennie was the daughter of the late Joseph W. and Mary A. (Kowal) Wendrychowicz. She was a communicant of the Basilica of St. Stanislaus. Jennie is predeceased by her husband, Henry J. Herchel, who died in 1982 and her daughter, Joan E. Saltzman, who died in 2009; two brothers, Frank and Emil and three sisters, Anna Zabik, Stella Marowski and Angelina Czarnecki. Jennie is survived by her three sons, Henry J. Herchel, Jr and his wife Jean of West Springfield, James J. Herchel and his wife, Debbie of Ludlow and Dennis S. Herchel and his wife, Catherine of Hampden; seven grandchildren, Shannon Herchel and her husband, Joseph Turner, Sarah Foresi and her husband, Joseph, Alison Gray and her husband, Dustin, James H. Herchel and his wife, Melanie, William Herchel and his wife, Katelyn, Lindsey Herchel and Colby Herchel and six great grandchildren, Ava, Nolan, Kelsey, Jack, Julietta and Joseph. A private service will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in St. Stanislaus Cemetery.
