Joan Agnes (Jacquel) Barrett, 86, of South Hadley, died on Monday, January 22, 2018 at Holyoke Medical Center. She was a sewer for Springfield Photo Mount. Joan was born on August 7, 1931 in Chicopee and was the daughter of the late Rene and Agnes (Lessig) Jacquel. She was an avid Red Sox fan. Joan loved her cat, Joey and her two birds, Lucky and Cuddles. She enjoyed going to family gathering and camping with family and friends. Joan will be missed by many. She is survived by her two daughters, Lori Payvar and her husband, Hooman of Matthews, NC and Maureen Van Buren and her husband Randall of Holyoke; four grandchildren, Emily Johnson, Lisa Vanburen, Keith VanBuren and Kelly Van Buren and two great grandchildren Alexandra and Aby. Calling hours will be on Thursday evening from 4 to 7 pm at the Cierpial Memorial Funeral Home on 69 East St. in Chicopee Falls. Her burial will be private and at a later date.
