Lucy S. (Glog) Talaga, 96, of Chicopee, died on Wednesday, July 18, 2018 at Willimansett Center East in Chicopee. She was a retired knitter for Alamac of Indian Orchard and Chicopee Manufacturing Co. Lucy was born on August 20, 1921 in Lilly, Pennsylvania. She was the daughter of the late Frank and Sophie (Klodowski) Glog. Lucy was a communicant of the Basilica of St. Stanislaus. She enjoyed gardening inside and outside and spending time with her family. Lucy made the best pierogi in Chicopee, which her family will miss. Besides her parents, she is predeceased by her husband, Marian Stanley Talaga, who died on January 4, 1999 and her four brothers, Joseph, John, Thomas and Walter and a sister, Mary Vance. She is survived by her son, Robert Talaga and his wife, Ann of West Springfield, her daughter, Diane Gilbert of Chicopee, a sister, Elizabeth “Jay” Anilowski of Ludlow and Genevieve Lassak of Lilly, PA: four grandchildren, Kerrie Jett, Glenn Gilbert, Jr., Justin Gilbert and Nancy Becker; three great grandchildren, Elora, Audrey and Joseph IV and many nieces and nephews. Lucy’s funeral will be held on Saturday, July 21, 2018 from the Cierpial Memorial Funeral Home on 69 East St. in Chicopee Falls at 9:00 am, followed by Liturgy of Christian Burial in the Basilica of St. Stanislaus at 10 am. Burial will follow in St. Stanislaus Cemetery. Calling hours are on Friday from 4 to 7 pm.
