Patricia (Hendry) Zagula, 84, of Chicopee passed away on Wednesday, July 8, 2020 at Baystate Medical Center after a short illness. Born in Barre, Vermont, April 25, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Oreetha (Bresette) Hendry. Pat attended St. Joan of Arc elementary School, Chicopee High School and received a library technician certification from Elms College. Her first job was in the office at Topor Dodge where she met the love of her life and man who would become her husband, Edward “Eddie” Zagula. She also worked at AT&T telephone Company, Halmar Distributors, Spaulding, Baystate Hospital Medical Records and Litwin School before her retirement. She was predeceased by her parents and her brother, Alan Hendry. She is survived by her brother, Robert Hendry of Chicopee, sister-in-law Anne Hendry of Easthampton, daughter Christine Larson and her husband Gary of Glastonbury, CT, granddaughter, Elizabeth Marques and husband, Daniel of North Haven, CT, grandson, Eric Larson of Glastonbury, CT, as well as many loving nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews all of which brought much pleasure to her life. Pat was a member of the River Mills Senior Center where she took exercise classes, attended craft classes and met wonderful friends there weekly. She loved gardening, blue grass music, word searches, and reading (especially the newspaper which she read cover to cover to kept her up to date with current events). Mostly Pat loved her family and loved hearing about their lives and the exciting things that were happening in their lives. Honoring Pat’s wishes she will be laid to rest privately after a Mass of Christian burial. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to WestMass Eldercare, 4 Valley Mill Rd.
