Peter K. Majka, 83, of Chicopee, died on Saturday, February 2, 2019 at Mercy Medical Center in Springfield. He was born on August 1, 1935 the son of the late Peter and Marcella (Pytka) Majka. Pete was much loved and worked hard throughout his life to care for his family. He was a good friend, admired for his ability to fix nearly anything. He enjoyed Polish music and food, and was a retired welder at Titeflex. Pete is survived by his wife of fifty-eight years, Eleanor (Laudate) Majka; two daughters, Cheryl Majka and her spouse, Justine Harris of Sydney, Australia and Diane Mager and her spouse, Douglas of Belchertown and four grandchildren, Nicholas (his spouse Jen), Matthew, Graciela and Rafael. He is predeceased by four beloved siblings, Albert (Chet) Majka, Julie Rockwal, Edward Majka, and Lillian Gagnon. Peter’s funeral will be held on Friday, February 8, 2019 from the Cierpial Memorial Funeral Home on 69 East St. in Chicopee Falls, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial in the Basilica of St. Stanislaus at 10 am. Burial will be in St. Stanislaus Cemetery. Family and friends may visit at the funeral home on Friday morning from 8:30 to 9:30 am.
