Steven J. Naumchick, 61, of Chicopee, passed away on Saturday, June 6, 2015, surrounded by his family at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, after battling Multiple Myeloma for a number of years. Steven was born in Northampton on October 25, 1953. He was the son of the late Serge and Jean (Waloweek) Naumchick. He attended Stockbridge at U of Mass and earned a bachelor’s degree in business at Westfield State University.  Before retiring, Steve was a Quality Control Manager for Mead Westvaco.  Steven had been the “Commish” of our friendly fantasy baseball league, loved to “unitize” with the family and followed his Detroit Tigers baseball.

Steven is survived by his wife and best friend, Doreen (Manijak) Naumchick; his precious children, his daughter, Stephanie Bernier and her husband, Stephen of Hudson, MA and his son, Keith Naumchick of Chicopee. He also leaves is sister, Gloria Magdalenski and her husband, Raymond of Easthampton, a sister, Janet Zmaczynski and her husband, Michael of Easthampton, a sister-in-law, Sandy Naumchick, of Connecticut and all his nieces and nephews. He was recently predeceased by his brother, Ron.

A funeral home service will be held on Saturday, June 13, 2015 at 10:30 am at the Cierpial Memorial Funeral Home on 61 Grape St. in Chicopee, followed by his burial in Peter and Paul Russian Orthodox Cemetery in Florence. Visitation will be on Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 am.
