Walter P. Krasinkiewicz, 93, of Chicopee, passed away on Tuesday, March 12, 2019 at the Holyoke Soldiers’ Home. Born on June 23, 1925 in Chicopee, he was the son of the late Marion and Jadwiga (Gosior) Krasinkiewicz. Walter was a World War II Army veteran and worked for the City of Chicopee Water Treatment Department. He was a communicant of St. Anthony of Padua Church, a member and volunteer at the Chicopee Lodge of Elks 1849 and also belonged to the American Legion Post 275. He enjoyed playing cards, especially Pitch, and golfing in South Carolina in the winter. Walter is predeceased by all of his siblings, Josephine, Alexander, Stanley, and Edwin. He is survived by his nephews, John and his wife Jennifer, Bill and his wife Nora, and Michael and his wife Kelly, along with four great-nephews and a great-niece. Walter’s family will receive friends on Monday, March 18, 2019 from 4-7 p.m. at Cierpial Memorial Funeral Home, 61 Grape St in Chicopee. Funeral services will begin at 9 a.m., Tuesday, March 19, 2019 from Cierpial Memorial Funeral Home, and followed by a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 56 St. Anthony St. in Chicopee. Burial will be in St. Stanislaus Cemetery with military honors. Memorial contributions in Walter’s name may be made to Baystate Hospice- BVNAH Care of Baystate Health Foundation, 282 Chestnut Street Springfield, MA 01199
