Wilfred J. Stokowski, 93, of Chicopee, passed away on Monday, December 14, 2020 at home. He was a baker for various bakeries including Bond Bakery and A & P. Wilfred was born on June 1, 1927 in Chicopee and was the son of the late Adam and Helen (Przybylowicz) Stokowski. Wilfred served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a very compassionate person and friendly neighbor. He was an animal lover and former dog walker for the T.J. O’Connor Animal and Adoption Center. Wilfred also enjoyed ballroom dancing and taught many nieces how to dance. Besides his parents, Wilfred is predeceased by his wife, Dolores “Dolly” (Stec) Stokowski; and by eleven brothers and sisters. He is survived by three sons, David Stokowski and his wife, Jean of Ludlow, Craig Stokowski and his wife, Sonya of Blandford and Jeffrey Stokowski and his wife, Leslie of Westfield; four grandchildren, Amy Woodruff and her husband, Jaimie of Westminster, CO, Katherine Farrell and her husband, Patrick of Blandford, Cara Bruschi and her husband, Nicholas of Hawley, PA, and Jacob Stokowski and his wife, Melissa of Bondsville and four great grandchildren, Eddison Jacob, Evelyn Rose, Logan William and Maisie Jane, a sister Doris Scott of Palmer, a sister-in-law Gladys Stokowski of Springfield and many beloved grand dogs. A private service will be held at the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Agawam. A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date. Please think of Wilfred in your own ways.
